Im such a movie buff the past couple of years. I really enjoy what Hollywood puts out. There are so many movies and actors that contribute to America's pop culture. Its really interesting how people become famous through Hollywood. Lately, I've watched Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Day breakers, and last night I am Legend with Will Smith. I enjoy Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Kate hudson, Ben Stiller, and even Queen Latifa. I just like movies. It gives people an outlet to relax. Thats what I probably like most.
Im happy about Obama being our President! Originally, I wanted the Clinton's back in the White House. I thought Hillary would be a good candidate. My friend Romeo would ask me why not Obama. He was for Barrack Obama right from the beginning. It took me a little longer but once he beat Hillary, I knew the country would be in good hands with Obama. Recently, I like how President Obama is moving health care forward. We all need health care, and I hope to benefit from some decisions congress is making. It's an important issue.
In the debate over the best Martial Arts. I think Kung Fu is the best! I read in a martial arts journal that Praying Mantis Kung Fu was the first to develop in china. From this original style the journal said, every other style was created. Coincedently, I trained in the Northern Shaolin Seven Star Praying Mantis style as a teenager. I learned from Master Sifu Kwan Cortez from the age of sixteen untill around twenty years old. I had moved away from his Kung fu Academy to the south suburbs, and started to put college first. Otherwise, I had been training and learned a fighting style, I won a first place fighting trophy at my first tournament. And, I had lived a couple blocks away from his studio. Which made it easy to go to and work out. Northern Shaolin Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu style is the best don't anyone deny it.
At the age of 25 I went to Waikiki, Honolulu with my friend Steve and his dad. I went swimming right in that water, and laid down for a tan on that beach. There is a sidewalk that you can't see. I remember walking to get a snow cone, or a drink of some sort. We went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial and flew to Kauai for a day trip. An island next to Honolulu,Oahu. I enjoyed being a tourist. We even went to a Luau and saw Hawaian dancers. This one week vacation was one of my thank you moments in life. After going I was glad I had done something big, as a kid I had dreamed of going to Hawaii some day. This trip was something in my life that I'll always remember.
I went to Lane Tech High School during the Fall of 1988 until the Spring of 1992. I remember playing football on that field, as part of the Frosh/Soph City Champions my sophmore year. I also ran the mile there a couple times senior year during gym class.
High School Graduation. The day I became a Lane Tech Alumni. I like keeping up with current events in the news. I am more aware of the world now. I have joined the fundraising part of the Trick or Treat Campaign. By giving donations and advocating for unicef, I am making a difference.
